Staff of the Finance Office of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, have held an end-of-year feast to reward outstanding staff, bid farewell to retiring colleagues and mark the close of the 2025 working year.
The event featured food, music and friendly contests.
University Finance Officer, Dr. Charles Nsiah, commended staff for their dedication across the various sections of the office, noting that while all staff deserved recognition, a committee had been constituted to develop criteria for the awards.
He said award recipients were selected based on job performance, commitment and reliability, initiative and innovation, ethical conduct, attitude to service and overall professional presentation.
The awardees were Nashiru Karim in the senior member category, Kwaku Tweneboah in the senior staff category and John Ofori Amanfo in the junior staff category. Helena Asante was named the most distinguished staff member in the Finance Office. GCB Bank was also recognised as a key financial partner of the university.
Dr. Nsiah commended retiring staff for dedicating their working years to the service of the university and the nation.
On behalf of the retirees, Mr. Asare Kyere thanked the office for the recognition and used the occasion to advise younger staff to maintain a positive attitude to work while striving for excellence and continuous professional development.
He also urged staff still in service to invest their time and resources wisely, noting that retirement comes sooner than expected.
